Stallone to remake “Death Wish”?

November 6th, 2007 by Michael Ferraro

Death Wish

This rumor has been mentioned before but it seems that it finally solidified itself. Sylvester Stallone will take on the role of Paul Kersey (made infamous by Charles Bronson), a man who takes the law into his own hands after his daughter and wife are viciously attacked by gang members. Michael Ferris and John Brancato, the masterminds behind the awful Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and Catwoman, are in charge of the screenplay.

It’s hard to say what the actual point of this remake is. Sure, the original Death Wish is an almost great movie, but it sort of had to do with the times. We’ve already seen two of these sort of films this year alone: Death Sentence (based on the novel by Brian Garfield who also wrote the novel Death Wish was based on) and The Brave One. Do people really care for yet another?

mike, if stallone is involved (besides anything rocky or anything sans guns), it doesn’t matter what people think. it needs to happen.
