Commentary: T3 - Rise of the Machines

November 3rd, 2007 by Michael Ferraro

The first review I ever wrote in my life was a review for Terminator 3. My love for T2 is simply indescribable. And even though the original creative party (James Cameron) had nothing to do with it, there was still this glimmer of hope that humanity would spare me another cinematic nightmare. But they didn’t. And my dreams were crushed. Here, in today’s time, listen to James Gregory and I (with special guest bartender Adria Borek) discuss the awfulness that is Rise of the Machines.

This commentary was also made to listen to if either you are watching the film along with it, or not. If you know the movie well enough, you can just listen to it while you work or play. If you do listen to it while watching the film, push play on your DVD player the second you hit play on the player and enjoy.

God I hated the continuity goofs too. It wouldn’t have bothered me so much if it had been obscure film geek references, but this was obviously spelled out stuff like John’s age or when the T2 film takes place. In fact, they get so many details wrong that I’m seriously wondering if they did it to avoid paying royalties to James Cameron or something because, if you go through the film carefully, you notice that they get EVERYTHING wrong except for John and Sarah’s names. Like how the Terminator’s a T-101 in this when he’s a T-800 series model 101 in the first two films, blatant errors. The only excuse for not knowing basic stuff like that is mental retardation. A pity, there’s an outline of a ballsier, better film here buried under a ton of bullshit.
